Select Judge’s Notes

Deeply caramelized nose of toasted pumpernickel bread, fennel, root beer spices. Roasted nuts and grains on the palate (seedy, nutty pumperickel bread), warming pepper and brightness from lime-zest and ginger flavour.
This intense, bold whisky finished spicy but juicy with fruity flavour (pineapple, passion fruit), plus hints of both vanilla and anise. What a flavour bomb!
The nose presents with Vanilla toffee pudding, buttered bread, oak spice, baked apple, and smoked mixed nuts. A medium bodied, medium intensity palate with silky warmth and flavours of malt, hot honey, salted pretzels, oak spice, citrus zest, and toast.
The medium finish is rich and spicy, fading to a caramel drizzle. With a splash of water the nose gives cardamom, strudel, and apple sauce, while the palate becomes silkier and maintains it flavours.
